A Place Built With Heart: How Mrs. Amy’s Adventures Preschool Grew Into a Brand-New Learning Space

A Preschool With a Story Worth Telling
Mrs. Amy’s Adventures Preschool is a personalized childcare school in Liberty Hill that recently reopened with an all-new facility. It’s much more than a new building; it’s the realization of years of dedication, passion, and community spirit devoted to early childhood education. What started as a small licensed childcare home has blossomed into a vibrant, purpose-built facility designed to nurture whole-child development and foster a warm, family-like atmosphere.
Amy Payne, the driving force behind the preschool, faced many challenges along the way, from limited space to complex commercial licensing hurdles. Yet, with unwavering commitment and the support of families, students, and the construction team, her vision finally took shape.
Turning Point Construction partnered closely with Amy to bring this dream to life, while Square Foot Photography captured the finished space with stunning ground, drone, and twilight images that showcase the school’s inviting environment. This is our collective story!
Amy’s Journey: From Small Classroom to Community-Funded Dream
Amy’s passion for early education is deeply rooted in her belief that quality childcare is foundational to strong communities. As she says, “Quality childcare is an integral part of any community. While we focus on whole child development and creating positive bonds within our school family, ultimately our field of work directly impacts the future of the communities in which we live!”
Starting as a licensed child care home in 2017, Amy expanded to a leased facility in 2020, spending five years in a space that quickly became too small. Despite opening during the peak of COVID-19 restrictions, the program thrived and operated at full capacity soon after.
“Ultimately, the need in the community FAR outweighed the space we had available, so I decided to take the leap into commercial construction of our brand new facility! I am so grateful to be operating in our new, beautiful space and provide care for more families,” Amy expresses.
Navigating the licensing process to reach this point was a significant challenge, complicated by resource constraints and construction delays due to necessary changes. But the preschool’s impact inspired an outpouring of community support. Amy recalls, “We filled City Hall to talk with the council about the impact our school makes in our community. I am eternally grateful for the support and belief in our Programs!”
Amy’s contribution extended beyond advocacy and resource gathering; she was also deeply involved in designing the new space. “I still like to show people the original sketch of the building I made back in early 2022. Since that day, I’ve spent countless hours working with the team at Turning Point Construction to make sure every inch of our school is thoughtfully designed for our families.”
“It’s built in a way that encourages our treasured ‘at home’ feel — providing spaces like our courtyard for classroom and student collaboration, areas for families to communicate with our team, and spaces like our cafeteria and library that help children transition into the next phase of their education.”
One of Amy’s favorite features? The windows!
“Honestly, one of my favorite things in our space is the beautiful windows. Not only for the abundance of natural light, but they’re also all set to heights appropriate for each age group. From our youngest babies to our school-age children, the ability to look out into the playgrounds, courtyard, and the world around us is just another way we encourage collaboration and integration of our community.”
Our Client Spotlight: Turning Point Construction
Turning Point Construction is a value engineered commercial construction company led by Asaad Kawach. They focus on providing honest, accurate, and unparalleled service to all their clients with a hands-on approach. Turning Point was inspired to take on this project by a clear community need.
As Asaad explains, “From the outset, the project aligned with Turning Point Construction’s commitment to building spaces that make a meaningful, long-term impact. The opportunity to create a safe, durable, and welcoming environment for young children, while directly supporting working families, gave the project a strong sense of purpose beyond the construction itself.”
To Turning Point, this project was not just another building, but an investment in the community’s future, workforce stability, and quality of life.
Their involvement went beyond the bricks and mortar of construction. Asaad explains, “Our involvement during the licensing and approval process was hands-on and proactive from the start. We worked closely with Amy and the Civil Engineer [to revise] the plans and obtain a building permit. Amy handled the process from the get-go with City Council and the Mayor. We helped provide clear, practical information on building requirements, budget, and schedule… to build confidence with city officials.”
The project’s uniqueness lay in its blend of community-focused construction and the technical demands of a licensed childcare facility. Asaad explains, “Amy gave special attention to child safety, indoor air quality, natural lighting, and outdoor play areas, ensuring the facility supported both child development and regulatory requirements.”
“At the same time, the layout was designed to support teachers working with children, flexible classroom spaces, and secure access control. Ultimately, [we created] a dependable, welcoming space that directly supports the daily lives of working families.”
How were they able to successfully accomplish such a huge and complex project? Asaad answers, “Collaboration with Amy was built around open communication, trust, and a shared commitment to creating the best possible environment for the children and families the school serves.”
They combined their construction expertise with Amy’s firsthand knowledge of early childhood education and artistic selection of high-end finishes to translate her ideas into a safe, functional, welcoming space that truly reflects her vision for the school.
When asked what part of the finished space they’re most proud of, Asaad says it’s the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. “From a builder’s perspective… we are most proud of the classroom and outdoor play area connection. We focused on creating bright, secure classrooms that open seamlessly to safe, enclosed outdoor spaces, allowing children to move naturally between learning and play.”
This project required careful attention to safety, visibility, durability, and accessibility, especially in a rural setting where the building needs to withstand heavy daily use with minimal maintenance. It truly embodies Turning Point Construction’s philosophy of providing clean and honest construction services while helping ideas and dreams become realities.
Capturing the Heart of the School: Square Foot Photography’s Role
Square Foot Photography was the other puzzle piece in this collaborative project. The photography team included: Alex, who captured the ground photos and detailed shots; Aiden, who handled drone and twilight photography; Paula and Aldo, who expertly edited the images to highlight the school’s inviting atmosphere. Their collective mission was to bring the story of Mrs. Amy’s Adventures Preschool to life visually.
As one team member shared, “This project was about more than documenting a finished building. We wanted the images to reflect the warmth, intention, and care built into every classroom and shared space. Mrs. Amy’s Adventures Preschool is a place shaped by purpose, and that story deserved to be told visually.”
This was accomplished through a strategic combination of photography services. Drone photos showcase the thoughtful exterior layout, while twilight images add emotional depth, capturing the school’s welcoming glow as day turns to night. The detailed interior and exterior photos tell the close-up story of the school’s students as they learn and play throughout their day.
Projects like this truly highlight the need for and benefit of professional real estate photography. As Asaad points out, “Professional photography allows us to tell a complete story of a project, from the functionality of the space to how it’s experienced by the people who use it every day. For [Turning Point’s] prospective clients, professional photography builds trust and confidence by clearly demonstrating our standards, capabilities, and attention to detail, making it easier for them to envision how we can deliver the same quality in their own projects.”
Square Foot Photography’s work supports local builders and community-based clients by visually telling the full story of spaces that matter. It’s these stories that keep us excited and passionate about each new project. When it benefits our own community in such an impactful way, that just makes the work so much sweeter.
